When you ask AI to summarise board materials or analyse a strategic decision, the tool shapes what you see before your own judgment activates. AI becomes your first reader, not your second opinion. Your contrarian instinct and pattern recognition only work on what they are actually shown. Once an algorithm has filtered the information, the instinct operates on what the tool decided to surface.

Tool names in this checklist are examples. If you use different software, the same principle applies. Check what is relevant to your workflow, mark what is not applicable, and ignore the rest.

AI can process information quickly and surface patterns in data, but CEO decisions require weighing stakeholder relationships, organisational culture, and ethical trade-offs that do not appear in any dataset. The risk is not replacement. It is that AI-summarised information shapes your framing before you have formed your own view.
