Your role depends on reading between the lines, understanding what candidates really need, and catching the moments when data misses the person. AI tools now handle candidate screening, performance ratings, and development recommendations at the moment you are most tempted to trust them. The risk is systematic: you automate away the judgement that makes HR actually work.

Tool names in this checklist are examples. If you use different software, the same principle applies. Check what is relevant to your workflow, mark what is not applicable, and ignore the rest.
